CIMT has certainly been ideal excess for overseas machine tool makers to expand in China market, according to organizer of CIMT 2009.
Due to the latest figure from the China Machine Tool and Tool Builders' Association (CMTBA), organizer of CIMT, for the whole year of 2008, the
production value of metalworking machine tool in the country rose 29.9% to US$13.96 billion. At the same time, import value rose 7.3% to US $7.59
billion and export value rose 27.6% to US$2.11 billion. China's machine tool consumption rose 20.2% to US$19.44 billion. According to the CMTBA,
China has already become the world's largest machine tool consumption and import country.
According to the show organizer, CIMT is considered as one of the four largest international machine tool exhibitions worldwide. The organizer explained, in the 2009 edition, half of the exhibitors are overseas, coming from 28 countries or regions around the world.
The German Machine Tool Builders' Association (VDW) has organized 140 exhibitors forming the German pavilion, whose net showcasing area
occupies about 6,300 square meters, doubling the size of last edition. Spanish machine tool enterprises, organized by the Spanish Machine Tool
Manufacturers Association (AFM), will demonstrate the latest innovation on the 1,140-square meter Spanish pavilion.
Sponsored by the Association of Italian Manufacturers of Machine Tools, Robots, Automation Systems and Ancillary Products (UCIMU), the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE) has organized more than 50 Italian enterprises to showcase on an area of about 2,500 square meters
during the CIMT 2009. In addition, AMT has also organized more than 50 American enterprises to present at the CIMT fairground.
